On Tuesday, February 24th, a Republican Primary Election will be held to determine the candidate for the city of Lincoln Ward 3 Alderman. The election will take place beginning at 6 a.m. at the Logan County Courthouse first floor in Lincoln. Polls will remain open until 7 p.m.

Voting will take place on paper ballots with a team of judges and officials counting the ballots by hand at the end of the day.

LDN will post the election results in our top stories section as soon as the results are in on Tuesday night.

On Saturday afternoon, a couple drove 30 miles to the Humane Society of Logan County to see Hayden, a six-month-old male red beagle mix, and a miracle happened....instant love. On Sunday, the couple once again drove 30 miles to Lincoln and made Hayden a permanent part of their family. Hayden knew he was going to his forever home, and he loved every minute of it! It was very hard to decide who was more in love, the people or the dog. Hayden's forever home will be all that a dog and a rescue organization can ask for, people who love dogs, especially the one they adopt, and a dog who absolutely loves his new family. The HSLC saves the lives of animals on a daily basis, through temporary shelter, love, care, medical attention, and of course finding forever homes for their four-legged clients.
