Friday, April 27th, Arbor Day, city of
Lincoln staff and elected officials and
other guests celebrated the day with a
tree planting ceremony at the new
Municipal Services property in Lincoln.
Elected Officials Alderman Ron Fleshman
and City Clerk Peggy Bateman joined
Street Superintendent Walt Landers in
the observance held as part of the
commitment to being a Tree City U.S.A.
community. Lincoln has maintained its
Tree City designation for the past 17
years.

Saturday, the Lincoln College Men’s Golf team
participated in the Lewis & Clark College Invite. The
event was held at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton,
Illinois. Lincoln native Jack White finished in 3rd
place overall by shooting a 78. A.C. Central grad Adam
Hoffman turned in an 87 and Caleb Przykopanski (Mt.
Pulaski) shot 93. The Lewis & Clark team won the event.
The Lynx will next compete in the District Golf
Tournament April 29-30 at the Dalhousie Golf Club in
Cape Girardeau, MO.
