Today
we start a new month and technically Breast
Cancer Awareness Month is over, but LDN still
has a few more pictures to post. Today we're
posting eight pictures that count as seven
groups. LDN was impressed by the back side of
the shirts worn by the staff at Alexander
Lumber, so while it is usually not good to shoot
"back shot" pictures, this is an exception.
The large picture today is the staff of the Town
and Country Bank in Lincoln. It has been very
gratifying to see just how people step up
sometimes. On Wednesday, LDN's Karen Hargis
stopped by the bank to pick up some unrelated
materials from Brian Ash, and much to her
surprise, he handed her a check for the American
Cancer Society for just over $350 from
fundraiser bake sales held by the bank and its
staff.
The check will be deposited with the American
Cancer Society via the Friends and Family Relay
team. With this check, the total dollars
collected in the month of October through the
Pink Pumpkin Auction, donations from businesses
after the auction, and a fundraiser at the
Country Aire in Atlanta, comes to just over
$7,000.

On
Wednesday, Friendship Manor in Lincoln hosted
its annual Halloween costume party and luncheon.
Once again this year LDN's Karen Hargis and Roy
Logan were asked to judge the contest. It was a
tough decision for the judges but in the end,
they chose a wonderful clown to fill the third
place slot, a sweet angel for second place and
the first place gift went to a very convincing,
though not terribly 'wicked' witch.
