As
luck would have it, Friday evening turned out to be a bit breezy,
making lift-off difficult for some of the balloons participating in
the Balloons Over 66 in Lincoln. A few did make it up including the
Honest Abe balloon owned and flown by Seth Goodman. During the 5:30
p.m. pilots meeting winds were ranging 10 to 13 knots at above 100
feet and increasing with altitude. Pilots had the option not to fly
but were encouraged to go to their launch sites so spectators might
see the balloons at least on the ground. Downtown, two balloons did
make it over the city, Good and Plenty and Wild Rover.
