Chester-East Lincoln school is in serious need of renovation and updating.  For the last several weeks public participation meetings have been going on at CEL with the hopes of defining what should be done to bring the school into the 21st century.  Above is one of eight plans that participants looked at Thursday evening.  Of the eight, this one is the least costly at $3.7 million.  Read more about this meeting in the story below.

This wonderful poster drawn by Gianna Massena was the winner in the kindergarten category of this year's Lincoln Fire Department poster contest. The drawing depicts a fire truck rushing to a burning building to put out the fire.

As the winner, Gianna will get to take a ride to school in a fire truck Tuesday morning.

Gianna is the daughter of Ben and Olivia Massena of Lincoln and is a student at Carroll Catholic School.

Sunday afternoon it was pure excitement for the team and coaches Steve Farris and Sam White as the Lincoln Youth Football second- and third-grade team clinched an undefeated season. The boys finish the year with a 7-0 record. LDN has two stories in today's Top Stories and Local Sports sections about the LYF teams this year. Congratulations to all the teams for a well-played season.
