The Mount Pulaski Lady Toppers won their first game of the regionals Wednesday night by defeating Springfield Calvary 56-36. The Toppers were led by Erika Leever with 20 points. Jessica Awe added 11 points while Emily Johnston chipped in seven. The rest of the scoring was very balanced as nearly every Lady Topper had a basket. Coach Eric Leever's team now has a 25-4 record and will play for the regional championship tonight at 7:30. Mount Pulaski, the No. 1 seed, will play Springfield Lutheran, the No. 3 seed. Mount Pulaski girls have not won a basketball regional since 1990.
