County 4-H member Lukas Aylesworth
(third from left) was deemed to be a
superior showman in the Illinois State
Fair Illinois Master Showmanship
competition on August 11th. Exhibitors
were judged on their handling of each of
three species of animals: beef, sheep
and swine and also quizzed by the judges
on their knowledge of animal husbandry
and livestock production. Lukas is from
Mount Pulaski, a member of the Topper
4-H Club, and the son of Rick and Debby
Aylesworth. Congratulations Lukas!

It’s
not difficult to understand why Lincoln College Men’s
Soccer Coach Ben Massena is looking forward to getting
the 2017 season underway. Coach Massena has one of the
most experienced and athletic teams the Lynx have ever
put on the pitch. Coach Massena sums up the theme for
this year’s squad with the phrase “play fast and be
mature,” a tone that is being set in the preseason by
nine returning players and a host of new talent.
Returning players Adrian Roman, a sophomore from
Waukegan, and sophomore Petor Kromah from Springfield,
are noted as the players to watch this season.
