Mueller, writing under the name of Irene Kueh, and Kathy Kesner
of their new books to Richard Sumrall at the Lincoln Public
Library District. The two illustrated children's books are
titled "ABC From Land and Sea" and "123 From Land and Sea." Both
the authors live in Lincoln and work at CEFCU. The books are
fun, colorful and interactive learning tools for kids as they
learn their ABCs and 1, 2, 3s.

There will be a
book signing at the Lincoln Public Library on July 20 from
9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with books available for purchase.

near Deer Park, Wash. A pack of dogs has killed about 100 animals in
the past three months while eluding law enforcement and volunteers
in northeastern Washington state. The killings are happening in a
wide area of mountains and valleys west of Deer Park, a small town
about 40 miles north of Spokane, authorities said.

Al Hughes paints the ceiling at Kunsthalle Detroit Museum of
Multimedia and Light-Based Art in Detroit on May 23. A
Russian-born art consultant wants to restore Detroit's status in the
art world by drawing artists to an unlikely place. Tate Osten is the
director of a nonprofit group that spent $60,000 on a century-old
vacant former bank building in a blighted, crime-infested section of
the city. If it takes root, she hopes galleries and other businesses
follow, potentially transforming the downtrodden area in the same
way art houses famously changed the Chelsea and SoHo neighborhoods
of New York City.
