This week members of various Logan County 4-H clubs were invited to a special recognition at the lunch meeting of the Lincoln Kiwanis. The Kiwanis each year recognizes outstanding 4-H members for their achievements in their club as well as their community.

Esther Will and her quilts

On Sunday July 12th, residents, families and guests of St. Clara's Manor were treated to a wonderful quilt show. Resident Esther Will has made over sixty quilts in her lifetime. Her daughters Shirley and Sharon presented some of those beautiful quilts with a ‘bed turning’ demonstration. Verna Ommen, also a resident, has made many quilts in her 102 years. Daughter, Wilma, shared a double wedding ring quilt and an afghan her mother had made her. The audience enjoyed and admired the immense talent of these two lovely ladies.
