Mariana Hwang has been promoted to associate professor of Christian education in the School of Undergraduate Studies at Lincoln Christian University, effective June 1.

Dr. Hwang's promotion to the rank of associate professor was the result of a recommendation process initiated by a committee of her peers. The provost and dean also review requests for faculty promotion and, upon endorsement, send the committee recommendation on to the president for final approval.

Today we're giving the snow pile a break to bring you something else that will hopefully make you smile. The city of Lincoln was out today filling potholes! Potholes are a part of suffering through winter, but what a relief that the weather was good enough Friday that some of them got patched.

Friday night the Lincoln Railers clinched the sectional title with a 47-30 victory over the Champaign Central Maroons. The Lincoln team is now headed to supersectionals and will play Cahokia on Tuesday night at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield. Tickets go on sale Monday morning at the high school. Don't tarry in getting yours bought. It's time once again to pack the house to the rafters for the Railers.
