As the 2020-21 school year was coming to an
end, and students were already looking forward to the return of
sports in the fall, the Lincoln Community High School Board of
Education made a milestone decision to return to the Central State
Eight Conference. The school had been with CS8 for many years, then
made the change to the Apollo Conference. The high school sports and
academic activities will continue to be part of the Apollo until the
school year 2022-23.

Railer Football
In the fall of 2021, students returned to classes and to their high
school sports. As teams began practicing for those respective
sports, it became clear that this could be a milestone year for
Railer Football. Though known to be gallant warriors on the field,
the Railers have not in the past enjoyed many wins.
This year would be different, and fans were thrilled. While the team
took some losses, they also won several games this year,
accomplishing something that will long be remembered by all.

Murphy reaches 1,000 points for the Honeybears
Mount Pulaski’s Alyson Murphy reached the elite milestone of scoring
1,000 points in her Honeybear basketball career on Tuesday night.
Murphy achieved her longtime goal of being a member of this
exclusive club by nailing a three in the second quarter versus
Williamsville.
With 3:34 showing on the clock, the eighth-grader collected a pass
from the corner from teammate Audrey Cooper and drained the basket
from the wing. The crowd rose to their feet and erupted in applause
as the ball fell through the hoop.
MPGS Coach Jamie Anderson called a timeout to recognize Murphy.
Murphy’s classmates, Luke Martin and Clay Leonard, carried a banner
congratulating Murphy onto the court. Balloons revealing “1,000”
were also unveiled on the gym’s stage. Murphy would finish the game
with 22 points as Mount Pulaski defeated Williamsville 39-20.
The Honeybears improve to 10-1 on the season.
Congratulations, Alyson!
