Work has resumed on the second of the "Twin Sister" houses on Pulaski Street. Monday evening the Lincoln City Council approved a request from Knecht Construction to close the sidewalks around the corner lot in the 600 block of Pulaski. The reason for the request: to remove and rebuild the roof of Twin Sister II.

The Lincoln Fire Department is promoting fire safety and prevention all this month with a variety of activities for school-age children in kindergarten through third grade.

This week Corbin Lohrenz was given a ride to his school in a fire truck. Corbin won this honor by creating the masterpiece above and submitting it to the fire department's poster contest. Altogether, 123 first-grade students entered the contest this year.
