Sunday
was a day filled with happy faces all around Lincoln. From the volunteers
of Together for Lincoln, to the recipients of their help, and even the wildlife
and family pets, all sensed that this was a day that would not soon be
forgotten. TFL had their sixth annual workday in Lincoln on Sunday, lending
a hand to those who needed it for whatever reason. Altogether this year,
the approximately 500 volunteers completed 67 projects. LDN has some
really great coverage of the event in today's edition. Be sure to check it

gather on a hill to observe the Westgate shopping mall after a bout of heavy gunfire just
after dawn Monday in Nairobi, Kenya. Helicopters circling
overhead, Kenya's military launched a major operation Sunday night at the
upscale Nairobi mall and claimed it had rescued "most" of the hostages being
held captive by al-Qaida-linked militants during a standoff that killed at least
68 people and injured 175.
